I’m an award-winning translator working from Dutch and German into English. I specialize in literary, academic and arts & culture translation.
My literary translations have been published by, or are forthcoming from, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Picador, Melville House, Levine Querido, Literary Hub and more, and have been read at the Crossing Border Festival and the Writers Unlimited Winternachten Festival in The Hague, the Berlin Poetry Festival and the International Book Festival in Budapest. Authors include Rudolph Herzog, Nina Polak and Hanna Bervoets.
I’m a regular contributor to New Books in German, a juror for the GINT Translation Prize and a consultant on translated literature for publishers across the English-speaking world. I’ve talked to students at Dartmouth College and the University of Amsterdam about the road to become a translator, and I’m a member of ALTA and the Translators Association.
I also translate textbooks, course readers, essays and lectures on a range of topics in the humanities, as well as copy for arts organizations, museums, festivals, and NGOs.
